A New Jersey woman thought she was paying for a down and out man’s cup of coffee at a service station last Friday, turns out that man was anything but down and out – it was Keith Urban.
Ruth Reed, a grandmother and substitute school teacher has a weekly ritual of picking up a tab for customers, so when Urban was short a few dollars, she paid for his coffee and food.
Urban thanked her telling Reed his name was Keith, which prompted her to comment on his resemblance to Keith Urban – yet a skeptical Reed had to confirm with his bodyguard that he was actually the famous musician.
Keith then offered to have his picture taken with his coffee saviour which she promptly posted to her Facebook page, describing it as “another Ruth Reed moment”.
My favorite story of the day is how my 3rd grade teacher thought @KeithUrban was down on his luck and couldn’t pay for his wawa snacks so she bought them for him. What an angel. pic.twitter.com/mJccVOQWtp
