Austin Waugh comes from a family of serious cricketing pedigree.

He’s the son of Steve, arguably our greatest modern captain and the man who crushed the Poms for a generation.

His uncle is Mark, one of our stable of great commentators here at Triple M Cricket and a brilliant batsman in his own right.

Steve and Mark combined for over 18,000 Test runs, so it’s no surprise that Austin is a jet himself.

Playing for NSW in the final of the under 19 championship against the Cricket Australia XI, Austin pulled off a stunning piece of fielding to run out CAXI opening batsman Patrick Rowe.

Kyle Brazell pushed the ball to the off-side and set off, before Austin Waugh swooped in and threw the stumps down with just the one to aim at.

Watch it here:

To add to that piece of brilliance, Waugh also did well with the ball, taking 2/37 from his seven overs.

NSW look certain to win the final, with CAXI 9/168 chasing their 6/296.
