A Watch & Act notice has been released for South Kempsey this afternoon.
Fire Fighters from the NSW RFS and Fire & Rescue are on scene of a small grass fire at Railway Street, South Kempsey.
The fire is burning close to homes.
Locals are advised to follow advice of firefighters on the scene.
Hot, dry conditions and strong winds are not helping fire fighters across the region with RFS crews called earlier to a bushfire on Jaboh Close at Upper Orara.
