With the rise in vaccination numbers, Queensland Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young revealed that the weekend has seen an “unbelievable” turn out of walk-ins at vaccination clinics across the state.
The rise in vaccination numbers has prompted Health officials to continue on with walk-in vaccination clinics every weekend.
"Now we've got this, we'll be having walk-ins every weekend going forward,” Dr Young said.
Dr Young also commended the latest Covid-19 positive case for his transparency and commitment in adhering to current health regulations.
“[Today’s case] another example of where a family did such a wonderful job so we didn't need to go into lockdown," Dr Young said.
"I honestly thought that we would need to, but we didn't because of that tremendous family."
Dr Young said the latest case has been "…so helpful with giving us the names and details of all his contacts so we could get them into quarantine."
"If we hadn't been able to do that with all of these cases, we'd have had a major outbreak," she said.
