Wagga, Albury and Wodonga have all shown their commitment to helping the global refugee situation, passing motions this week which call on the governmnet to improve its Community Sponsorship Program.
The support furthers the three councils' previous commitments, Wagga has been declared a Refugee Welcome Zone since 2012.
Amnesty International recently approached the Mayors of the Riverina Regional Cities group to support the Community Support Program motion.
