Wagga Base Emergency Department seeing an increase in patients

Emergency departments across the Murrumbidgee Local Health District saw an increase in demand from January to March this year, up 1.4% compared to the previous year.

At Wagga Base Hospital, there was an 8.8% increase in presentations to the Emergency Department compared to the same quarter last year, and 68.3% of them left within the recommended 4 hours.

According to figures from the Bureau of Health Information, that’s down 1.6% on the same quarter last year, and lower than the state average of 74.4%.
