An earthquake has hit near New Caledonia, with warnings following that a tsunami may strike along Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
The 7.3 magnitude quake was centred 68km eat-northeast of Tadine, Loyalty Islands, at a depth of 25km.
A 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck in the Pacific Ocean a day earlier near the Loyalty Islands.
There is a chance that this could trigger hazardous waves within a 300km radius from the epicentre.
