A total fire ban has been issued for the Lockyer Valley today.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services issued the ban to eight other local council areas as well.
The ban is being blamed on the record dry conditions and the predicted wind gusts of up to 75 kilometers an hour today.
Darling and Southern Downs locals are also being encouraged to check in with local fire wardens as more localised fire bans maybe in place.
