Tom Mitchell Has Set An Impressive AFL Record This Season

Since making the move from Sydney, Tom Mitchell has absolutely delivered for his new club.

The Hawthorn midfielder has quietly put together one of the most prolific seasons in AFL history - as it stands 7 rounds in.

According to sports statistician @sirswampthing, Mitchell has set a new record in the AFL era for disposals at the end of Round 7.

He edges out Dane SwanMatthew Boyd and David Armitage by racking up 237 touches:

After 7 games, Mitchell leads the AFL with an average of 33.86 disposals a game.

He leads Matt Crouch (33.00), Zach Merrett (32.29), Rory Laird (32.29) and Gary Ablett (32.00) for the title.
