It's well known North is looking to make a massive play at either - or both of - Josh Kelly and Dustin Martin.
The Roos have money to spend, and Kelly and Martin are two of the hottest out-of-contract players in the league.
So who would Todd Goldstein rather?
He joined Triple M's Neroli Meadows on AFL Today on Sunday morning - and he had the slightest lean one way.
"It's a pretty tough one. I don't even know. It's very hard," he told Fox Sports.
"Maybe Josh? Because his age is a couple of years younger, so if you're going to sign him to a long deal you might get a bit more out of him?
"But I think it's tough."
Goldstein still admitted he'd like to be palming it down to both of them.
"We've been linked to virtually every single free agent under the sun, I think, so it is hard to know who is likely to come or if we're any chance to get any of them," he said.
"But either would be a great asset to our footy club, and we're pretty keen to get hopefully both of them."
"He's a really good player. He's so strong in the contest...he's so smart.
