Thousands To Lose Centrelink Payments Over Immunisation Issue

No jab, no pay.

14 September 2017

Thousands of parents nationwide will be denied a portion of their Centrelink payments if they have not immunised their children.

According to a report by Nine News, changes to the 'no jab, no play' policy will affect fortnightly Centrelink payments.

Currently, parents who have not immunised their children lose their Family Tax Benefit A supplement payment at the end of the year.

This amount is around the $700 mark, with the new 'no jab, no play' instead seeing $28 taken from their fortnightly payment as well.

While the amount lost will be around the same annually, this move it is to incentivise families to vaccinate their children immediately.
