So time travel is possible, apparently.
Take it from the passengers on board Hawaiian Airlines flight HA446, who took off in 2018 before landing in 2017, celebrating the new year twice.
The flight took off just after midnight from Auckland on January 1 before landing in Hawaii in the morning of December 31.
Honolulu is a full 23 hours behind Auckland, with the plane crossing the International Date Line on the way.
It all came out of good fortune for the passengers - the flight was actually scheduled to depart at 11:55 pm, taking off 10 minutes late.
What a wonderful New Year's or two it was for those on board.
