Seminal Aussie kids band The Wiggles briefly threw some AC/DC into their otherwise heavily family friendly playlist to pay tribute to legendary guitarist Malcolm Young.

Playing at Perth Arena, The Wiggles guitarist went into the iconic riff from Thunderstruck.

Perth Arena tweeted some footage of the brief dalliance with hard rock:

The Wiggles joined other bands including Guns n Roses and The Foo Fighters in paying tribute to the fallen rocker.

It was a much better tribute than either the Herald Sun — who called Malcolm a bass player — or Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull — who couldn’t name a song by the iconic rockers — could manage.

Hopefully that riff sticks in a few kids’ heads and we breed a new generation of rock fans!
