The Incident That Ended Johnathan Thurston's Season

The moment it all came undone

Johnathan Thurston has pinpointed the play that his season was over, with the star half saying that there was a particular moment during Origin II where he knew his shoulder was gone.

A big run from Tyson Frizell left JT reeling and clutching his shoulder, with JT confirming this is when he felt it.

“It was just direct contact to the point of the shoulder (by Frizell),” Thurston said, reports Fox Sports.

“It just felt like a cork to be honest. The arm obviously went numb and a bit dead. I could still lift my arm, I was obviously in a bit of pain, but with the adrenaline pumping in that arena, you just play through that pain.

“I got through the game and things were looking good the next morning. I could lift my arm above my head, obviously rotate it and things like that. I was pretty confident I’d done no structural damage until I got the scans back.”
