Whatever you’re into, there’s a podcast for you.
Wondering what a Bitcoin is? Love indulging in some real-life crime stories? Want to learn some dumb trivia or just hear passionate people talk about what they love? We’ve compiled the very best podcasts that you should have listened to – except maybe you didn’t know they existed… until now.
In no particular order, but with plenty of faces and voices familiar to Triple M followers, here’s our ultimate podcast list you need to get in your ears right now:
The most listened to sports podcast in Australia. Mark Howard has been an outstanding anchor on Triple M’s footy and cricket coverage as well as being the face of Ten’s BBL coverage. As an interviewer he excels in a Parkinson-esque style of knowing how to put guests at their ease and to open up as they never have before. The two series of The Howie Games have seen Ricky Ponting in tears, Greg Norman uncovered, Cathy Freeman explain why the world misunderstood her reaction to *that* win, and superstars from Mick Fanning to Kevin Pietersen and Tim Cahill. Once you’ve done this, move straight onto Howie’s The Moment, which is the same captivating sports chat but relating to seminal moments in Australian sporting history.

Triple M Cricket
Well, we would say this. But don’t take our word for it. In the First Test alone, more people listened to our daily wrap podcast of Triple M Rocks The Ashes and related clips than The Grill Team (Sydney) and Hot Breakfast (Melbourne) combined. (Both of which are also excellent Catch Up podcasts, by the way). Skull, JB, Mick Molloy, that man Howie again, Isa Guha, Gus Worland, Phil Tufnell, Graeme Swann, Sir Ian Botham, Adam Gilchrist, Mark Waugh, Mitchell Johnson… the names say it all. Don’t miss a day with this Best Of podcast.

Trials Of The Vampire
Australia's answer to Serial (see below). Adam Shand's incredible report into one of Melbourne's most famous crimes. He uncovers the police reports and speaks to the families of those affected in the extraordinary "vampire killings". If you only listen to one podcast this summer, this is your one.
Song Exploder
When we asked around the office for this list, this podcast came up again and again. Musicians take apart their songs are explain exactly how they were written and made. Compelling listening and brilliant insight into how your favourite artists created your favourite songs.
Radio Chaser
The boys of The Chaser started their careers (more years ago than they’d care to admit) on Triple M. Now dominating the daytime airwaves in Sydney, their unique Chaser take on the world continues with the same brand of irreverence, humour, and downright idiocy as ever.

Serial
The podcast that got half of us into podcasts in the first place. Sarah Koenig’s extraordinary investigation into the highly flawed case of young Adnan Syed, arrested and sentenced for the killing of his ex-girlfriend. Did he do it? Koenig peels away the layers as you go on the journey towards truth with her. Storytelling at its very best. Last year, the same team brought us S-Town, another real-life crime story of a different – but no less intriguing – kind.
Motley Fool Money
The money chat for the rest of us. The Motley Fools (Scott Philips and Andrew Page) have a bitesize-yet-meaty weekly take on the big issues that affect your wallet with no bullshit. Whether you want to upgrade your portfolio or don’t know your Bitcoin from your Budget deficits, Motley Fool Money has you covered.
The Coach with Paul Roos
One of AFL's best ever coaches shares the secrets of his success and translates how to build culture and performance, speaking to experts to relate their wisdom to everyday businesses and situations. Outstanding, practical advice we can all learn from.
We Fact Up
Who invented the high five? What does o.k. stand for? These and other questions are taken on and dismantled by Dave and Redd with a special guest (the recent Hamish & Andy episode was especially good and a great place to start). Fun, funny and guaranteed to make you learn something… even if only one thing.
My Dad Wrote A Porno
Make sure the kids are out of the way, then listen to probably the funniest podcast you’ll ever hear. The premise is simple: a bloke found out his old man wrote a book of “erotic literature”. This despite the fact his dad has, at best, only passing knowledge of romance, the sexual act, or the basic biology of a woman. The full books are read out by his poor son and reacted to by his two mates. Consistently rates in the top podcasts around the world and has achieved millions of sales of the published work of Rocky Flintstone (well, if you wrote a porno, what would you call yourself?).
