Aside from Alastair Cook, the Barmy Army have arguably been England’s best contributor to the MCG Test.
They made headlines on the first day when they trolled the cops who asked them not to take their shoes off, and and they’ve been a great presence with song and banter throughout.
The police have marshalled them well, letting them have their fun but not go overboard, and one bloke in particular that they call Sergeant Tony has earned their respect for his approach during the Test.
To show their gratitude they presented him with a signed Barmy Army t-shirt today.
