Adelaide Crows captain Taylor Walker has provided a positive update on injured teammate Brodie Smith.

Smith ruptured his ACL attempting to tackle during the last season's Qualifying Final against Greater Western Sydney.

Chatting to Roo and Ditts on Triple M Adelaide this morning, Tex said Smith's recovery was well on track, with the line-breaking defender expected to be available for selection before season's end.

"Fingers crossed we'll get him back by the end of the year," Tex told Roo and Ditts.

"He's ramping up. Running, using the football, changing direction.

"He's in pretty good condition too...just ask him."

The Crows host Collingwood this Friday night at Adelaide Oval fresh of a comprehensive 49-point win over St Kilda.
