Talking the Talk: Childhood Sexual Health and Wellbeing Forum for workers, parents and carers

September 6 & 7

24 August 2017

What: Women’s Health Goulburn North East is hosting three forums for parents, carers and workers to help children stay safe and healthy by talking with them about human sexuality and respectful relationships.  For many adults, the biggest challenge is knowing when and how to have these conversations in ways that are appropriate to the child’s age and development.

Experienced Sexual Health Educator and mother of three Vanessa Hamilton will give parents and professionals the information and reassurance they need to begin positive conversations with children.

Ms Hamilton will cover subjects such as:

  • What is normal childhood sexual development and behaviour?
  • What are healthy and respectful relationships?
  • Body and protective safety
  • How to talk about reproduction
  • Preparing for puberty
  • Supporting children while growing up in a sexualised society

Sessions are free for parents and carers and $5 for workers.
