Hawthorn got over the line in an epic against Sydney at the SCG tonight, with Cyril Rioli sinking a MONSTER clutch goal from 55 metres out to seal the 11.9 (75) to 10.10 (70) win.
But it wasn’t just Cyril that got the punters talking.
The umpires made several divisive calls over the game, and social media reacted furiously.
More than a few people think that the AFL and the umpires are running a conspiracy to gift Hawthorn a fourth consecutive flag:

To be fair, the free kick count was fairly lopsided toward Hawthorn:
Which, of course, doesn’t necessarily point to any bias.
To be honest, we’d take umpire controversy every week if it meant we got games that good.
