Shaun Kenny-Dowall Trying To Coax Mitchell Pearce To The Knights

A Roosters reunion

22 November 2017

Newcastle mid-season signing Shaun Kenny-Dowall is attempting to lure good mate Mitchell Pearce to the Knights after Pearce's release from the Roosters.

Having played more than 200 games together at the Roosters, 'SKD' is keen to reunite with Pearce, admitting he has made contact with the incumbent NSW halfback.

"There’s been a few messages," Kenny-Dowall told the Newcastle Herald.

"I’ve just told him how much of a good place Newcastle is and that if he wanted to make the decision to come up here, we’d love to have him.

"He’s a world-class player and his presence on the field would be great for the club.

"He would be a great addition and a great asset for the club, but at the end of the day that’s his decision."

The Knights have almost $1 million they need to spend in the salary cap, with coach Nathan Brown already declaring several weeks ago he is very interested in signing Pearce.

The Sea Eagles are also favourites to sign Pearce after releasing Blake Green, who joined the Warriors on a lucrative multi-year deal.
