Australian singer Shannon Noll has been arrested in Adelaide and charged with two counts of assault.

The alleged incident took place out the front of the Crazy Horse strip club on Hindley Street.

Witnesses say the 41-year-old became aggressive after being kicked out of the club and denied re-entry.

“He kept saying ‘I’m Shannon Noll, let me back in to the Crazy Horse’ and punched a security guard,” a witness named Alastair Longmuir told Channel 9.

Noll is most famous for finishing as runner up in the 2003 edition of Australian Idol.

He was in Adelaide to perform with Daryl Braithwaite at Sounds by the River in Mannum.

He will face Adelaide Magistrates Court on February 24.
