Summer has hit and although for much of Australia, it's been a mild start, that hasn't stopped the festive season kicking into gear... 'tis the season and all.
To celebrate the festiveness, the people at Kraken Rum have released a bunch of summer rum cocktail recipes that quite frankly, have us thinking about a warm summer's night with said cocktail in hand.
Speaking of which, their people tell us that there's a limited-edition Kraken Ceramic bottle on offer for purchase this Christmas, which will please anyone who thinks these bottles are a work of art on their own.
Without further ado, here are the summer rum recipes. YES!
BANANA OLD KRAKEN
- 60ml Kraken Black Spiced Rum
- 7ml Banana liqueur
- 7ml Demerara syrup (1:1 Demerara sugar to water)
- 3 dashes Angostura Bitters
- Pinch of sea salt
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass. Stir with ice, then strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime twist. BLACK MOJITO Muddle lime, sugar, and mint in a glass. Add fresh ice and Kraken Rum, stir, and top with soda. KRAKEN COLD BREW Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass. Stir with ice, then strain into a highball glass over fresh crushed ice. Garnish with mint and coffee beans. KRAKEN CIDER CRUSH Combine ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir. Strain into a coupe glass, then top with cider. Garnish with a lemon wedge and cloves. INK PUNCH Combine all ingredients in punch bowl over large chunks of ice. Garnish the bowl with lemon wheels, orange slices, berries, edible flowers. Garnish each glass with seasonal berries. KRAMBLE Muddle blackberries in the bottom of a large rocks glass. Combine all other ingredients into a shaker tin with crushed ice. Shake then pour on top of the muddled blackberries without straining. Top with more crushed ice and garnish with more blackberries. HONEYSUCKLER Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin. Add ice and shake. Fine strain into a chilled coupe glass and garnish with a sage leaf. Written by: @dantheinternut
