As of Monday (January 15) Wodonga's High Street between South Street and Elgin Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic as road works take place in the area.
The intersection of High and South streets is expected to be closed for approximately four weeks, subject to weather, while the intersection is reconstructed.
Detours will be in place taking in Osburn, Hovell and Havelock streets. Pedestrian access will remain at all times.
The main works to be undertaken include:
- Reconstruction of High St from Bond St to South St
- Remove dip in the road and improve drainage in the area
- Angled parking to remain
- Landscaping, beautification, new street lighting
