WHACK!

Mick Malthouse caused a stir today when his rankings of the best 25 players of the last 50 years came out in the Herald Sun.

Malthouse somehow couldn’t find a spot for either Gary Ablett senior or junior, an omission that confused a lot of fans.

He also overlooked long time Pies skipper Nathan Buckley, the man who famously succeeded him as Collingwood coach, and James Hird.

His list was the only one out of nine that did not feature either Ablett.

And it seems it wasn’t just fans who were annoyed by Mick’s selections.

Herald Sun chief footy writer Mark Robinson teed off on Malthouse on Twitter, suggesting that his contrarian approach made the exercise worthless.

Fair whack from Robbo, who obviously thinks Malthouse didn’t take it seriously.
