This is not the news Power fans want before the finals series...

Speaking on Triple M Adelaide this morning, Mark Ricciuto dropped the mail he had received that a Port Adelaide player has gone in for season ending hip surgery.

“My mail is…Jack Hombsch flew interstate to either have an operation or to inquire about an operation on his hip," Roo said on Triple M.

“He may not playing for the rest of the year.”

Luckily for listeneres, Port utility Jackson Trengove was in the studio to shed some light on the situation.

“That’s the first I’ve heard of that,” Trengove told Triple M Adelaide.

“He has had some hip issues.

“I think he may have had a little (surgery) last year.

“From all reports he came back through the SANFL, had two weeks there and got sore groins.

“But this is the first I’ve heard of this.”

However Trengove did admit there is a possibility Hombsch had met with a a surgeon, but he didn't expect the defender to be ruled out for the finals.

“There is chance he may have gone and seen a surgeon,” Trengove did admit.

“But I doubt it would end his season… he was saying he was sore but he was still able to play a couple of weeks ago.

“He has been restricted but I would have thought he’d play out the season, either in the AFL or the SANFL.”
