Rate increases for Bellingen get green light

Find out how much extra you’ll fork out

9 May 2017

Rates are set to go up for Bellingen Shire property owners.

The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal has given council the okay to increase current fees by 6% for the upcoming 2017-18 financial year.

That'll be the permanent base for rates in future.

The change will see households fork out an extra $63 dollars, $65 for businesses, while farmers will pay a $144 more per year.

The cash is going towards better roads for the local government area.
