Wagga MP Daryl Maguire has announced Armidale-based company Bridge and Civil has been awarded the contract for the removal of the old Kapooka Bridge.
Roads and Maritime called for tenders earlier this year, which constitutes the final stage of the 55 million dollar Kapooka Bridge Upgrade project, the new bridge opened in June last year.
Mr Maguire says the old bridge is now redundant and not used, and its removal will also help with the announced Inland Rail project
