NSW Road Deaths on the Rise After Grafton Fatal Crash

The NSW Road Toll continues to rise after a fatal crash near Grafton on Monday morning.

Police are preparing a report into the fatal crash for the Coroner.

About 7:40am on Monday morning, emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway, about 400 metres south of Centenary Drive.

Police have been told that a Toyota Camry was travelling south when another motorist observed the vehicle leave the carriageway.

According to witnesses, the Camry travelled along a deep table drain for some distance before striking a cement drain and embankment.

The driver and sole occupant, a 77 year old woman, was trapped in the vehicle.

She was eventually released from the vehicle and conveyed to Coffs Harbour Hospital in a critical condition.

The woman passed away about 10am today.

Officers from Coffs Clarence Local Area Command attended and will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
