Newtown is the new kid on the block for property buyers.
New data from the Real Estate Institute Queensland shows the suburb had the highest number of homes sold in Toowoomba last year.
A total of 170 homes were sold in the suburb in 2017 for an average price $305,000.
The data from REIQ also showed Toowoomba had the highest growth in the housing market of all regional Queensland in the past five years, growing 20 per cent.
