New Zealand Police Have Released A Ripper Recruitment Video

The “World’s Most Entertaining Police Recruitment Video” is living up to its name, racking up millions of views across the globe in the hours since its launch online.

In the 12 hours since the video was posted to the New Zealand Police Recruitment Facebook page on Sunday, some 2.9 million people and was viewed one million times, with 333 applicants already expressing interest in joining the force.

Commissioner Mike Bush said the "phenomenal" response surrounding the video had exceeded expectations.

“It’s exciting to see so many people embracing our approach to recruitment and sharing the message online with potential future officers,” he said.

Law enforcement counterparts across the world have praised the uniquely New Zealand approach to the video.

PC Mark Walsh of the Hampshire Police in the UK tweeted: “The NZ Police have done it again and produced an awesome police recruitment video. It fully exemplifies the qualities of policing; diversity, courage, service, humour to name a few.”

San Diego Police Department Chief Shelley Zimmerman even tried to piggyback off the campaign posting: “Well done NZ Police - we are hiring too.”
