Aussie number six Shaun Marsh repaid the selector’s faith in him with an important first innings ton in the second Ashes Test at Adelaide.

Marsh’s 126* off 231 deliveries was a masterclass in patience and picking shots, and Triple M Cricket’s Neroli Meadows caught up with his wife, Rebecca, who is a Channel 7 journalist in Perth, to discuss how Marsh has dealt with the abuse and criticism he’s copped.

Listen to the chat here:

“After a while you just kinda get used to it,” Bec said.

“You have to learn to block the negative stuff out.

“He’s pretty good at that now and I think that’s why he’s playing the best cricket of his life.”

Bec said that Marsh is feeling a lot more comfortable, even at home.

“He’s definitely changed,” she said.

“I know having a family now gives you a bit more perspective on life.

“You kind of learn what’s more important.”

Neroli and Bec’s chat also touched on the couple’s son Austin and his potential cricket career — have a listen further up the page.
