Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has taken to Twitter to express his thoughts following the news that James Hird was taken to hospital following a suspected 'intentional overdose'.
Although Buckley does not mention Hird specifically, he implores the public and media to show more empathy when reporting on sportspeople:
