Western Australian captain Mitchell Marsh has scored some timely runs in today's Sheffield Shield fixture against Queensland.

Marsh came in at No.4 for Western Australia and went on to craft a well made 141 from 209 balls.

He was dismissed caught down the leg-side by wicket keeper Jimmy Pierson off the bowling of paceman Luke Feldman.

The all-rounder's century has held the Warriors in good stead as they are cruising at 6-347 late on day one.

Will Bosisto and D'Arcy Short were also in the runs posting half-centuries.

Marsh is not the only baggy green representative to dominate Shield cricket today as Glenn Maxwell smashed an unbeaten double-century
