Mike Sheahan joined Triple M's Rush Hour with JB & Billy ahead of the resumption of Open Mike, where the conversation went to how many players have nearly landed at Collingwood over the journey.
Kevin Bartlett was one - as raised on Sheahan's podcast - as well as the likes of Nick Riewoldt, Steve Johnson and Jonathan Brown.
But there's one name that just about trumps all of them.
"The one that got away, Billy, a fraction before your time, was Bernie Quinlan," Sheahan said.
So he told JB & Billy how it all went down and what made the deal fall through.
"They would have won at least two flags had Bernie played!"
