Triple M's Mark Geyer has weighed in on the 'hot' topic of the heat policy debate, which the RLPA are pushing to implement guidelines for pre-season training.

This comes after former Raiders squad player Kattio Ottio collapsed and died due to heat exhaustion while training with QLD Cup side the PNG Hunters and Manly forward Lloyd Perrett collapsed twice during the summer heat wave in Sydney over the festive period.

MG believes he has the perfect solution to deal with the heat issues, across all football codes.

"I'm actually suggesting another alternative to help the RLPA and the players out in all sports," he said on The Rush Hour with MG.

"I suggest the NRL, AFL and ARU don't play a day game until maybe the first week of April, when it's a lot cooler.

"Or until the long-term weather forecast will no longer be around the 35-40 degree mark in Sydney.

"At all times players welfare must come first in any sport."

There are also problems occurring at the Australian Open in Melbourne, where on-court temperatures reached 69 Degrees Celsius which is not only a major issue for competitors but spectators alike according to Triple M Grill Team's Matty Johns

"Well, I'll tell you how hot it was at the Australian Open talking to a friend of mine yesterday," Matty said.

"She and her husband, they were there for three days to watch the tennis, after day one they said we're not going back.

"At court side it was an oven and it was oppressive and shocking.

"They looked at the temperature for the next few days and it was the same so they just stayed in the hotel and watched it."
