Starting with Derby Day where all nine races are Group races, with the flagship AAMI Victoria Derby over 2500m. Ace High is the favourite in that, but is drifting at $5.50.
Onto the Cup and last year's winner Almandin is the favourite and getting some good backing. After that, there's a host of overseas horses that are worth trying. It's a tough Emirates Melbourne Cup field and, as always, bound to be a remarkable new page in the history of Australia's most famous race.
