Former Essendon sharp shooter Matty Lloyd has raised a few eyebrows with the present he’s given ex-Hawk Brad Sewell for Sewell’s buck’s do.
Lloyd and Sewell had a famous run in late in the 2009 season when Lloyd cannoned into Sewell at a centre bounce and knocked him out.
Lloyd’s present to Sewell referenced the famous incident — it’s an Essendon guernsey signed by Lloyd with a message to him.
The message reads:
“Sewelly, hope you stay conscious on your bucks longer than you did on the G when I thought I had killed you.
“Have a great day.”
The 2009 match was Lloyd’s last, with the Match Review Panel handing him a six week suspension for the hit on Sewell. He retired soon after.
