Geelong have revealed the extent of the injury to big man Mark Blicavs after he limped off in their loss to Adelaide.
Blicavs has suffered fracture and ligament damage to his ankle, as revealed by scans on Monday.
"Specialist opinion received today believes the best course of action is to allow the ankle to heal naturally, and as such Blicavs will not undergo surgery," the Cats website reads.
The club is hopeful that he will be available to be selected in time for September.
