UPDATE: A man who is believed to have assaulted his pregnant partner and then kidnapped a 10-month-old child is still on the run.
The man left Mentone in an aqua-green Toyota Yaris sedan WJQ334 with a 10-month-old child stating he is going to harm the baby and himself.
The man has since left that vehicle and is now believed to be in another vehicle. He is perceived to be of Pacific islander/ Maori appearance.
He was last seen wearing grey tracksuit pants, a plain white t-shirt and a grey cap.
The investigation remains ongoing.
