Man Arrested Over Shooting in Rangeville

Police are charging a 23-year-old Scarborough man with the shooting of a man at Rangeville yesterday morning.

The man was tracked by the Polair chopper after allegedly driving towards a police vehicle down the wrong side of Stephen Street at around 11:15AM yesterday morning.

The chopper found the vehicle down McDougal Street behind Beechcraft Court around 2:20PM yesterday afternoon.

The man produced a gun when confronted by police before surrendering.

The victim of the shooting, a 20-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and knee in the driveway of a Curzon street address. 

He was operated on yesterday and is in a stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are stressing that yesterday’s shooting at Rangeville was not a random attack.

The Scarborough man is facing a number of charges including attempted murder and is due in front a Toowoomba magistrate today.
