A Townsville teenager facing a rare cancer battle has just received a massive display of support from his favourite Rugby League players the New Zealand Warriors.

Kaiya Kerekere is currently going through treatment for a throat cancer called Synovial Sarcoma, but has a smile back on his face after receiving videos from the Warriors.

The local support for Kaiya has been outstanding and continues this weekend with a walk on Castle Hill.

TAMbition Fitness are hosting the walk which costs just $5 per person at 9am this Sunday.

Walkers will meet at the Castle Hill Touch Car Park, 25 Paxton Street, and you contact Tam for more info on 0432 786 800.

In two weeks, over $7,000 has been raised for the teenager, and you can donate here if you'd like to support Kaiya's family.
