A little Aussie battler has just taken out a prestigious international award, so we figured we'd better spruik it for all it's worth... (9 bucks, to be exact).

That's right, Dan Murphy’s $9 Cleanskin Clare Valley Riesling won a Gold at the 2018 International Wine Challenge in the UK.

The internationally acclaimed London International Wine Challenge is one of the largest and most influential wine shows in the world and is meticulously judged by some of the world’s most experienced wine judges, including the UK’s Tim Atkin MW, Oz Clarke, Jamie Goode and Charles Metcalfe.

From what we understand, judges were blind tasting a range of entrants, and dubbed the Australian riesling "... near perfect."

Not bad for a bloody cheap cleanskin.
