Triple M's Hot Breakfast footy reporter Tom Browne says there is "a chance" Dayne Beams returns to Victoria before his Brisbane contract expires.
Beams, who handed the captaincy to Dayne Zorko last week, has two years to run on his current contract.
Browne joined Triple M's Hot Breakfast on Tuesday morning to explain.
"A lot of discussion and praise for Dayne Beams last week, who bravely admitted that he's facing some issues following the tragic passing of his father," he said.
"There is some whispers around Victorian clubs potentially that given his wife is from Victoria, it's a chance that Dayne in the future...might want to return to Victoria."
