Kalyn Ponga was awarded the highest honour by his peers on Tuesday night, winning the Rugby League Players Association The Player Champion award for 2018.
Ponga joins past winners like Johnathan Thurston, James Tedesco and Jarryd Hayne as being voted as the best player in the game by his his teammates and opponents.
Winning the award, comes with holding aloft the prestigious and unique trophy.
RLPA CEO Ian Prengergast joined Triple M's The Rush Hour with MG and recalled the fascinating story behind the design of the trophy.
