Eddie McGuire has joked South Australians have stuffed up player pronunciation in footy commentary, saying that there's "too many of them calling the bloody football".

LISTEN TO EDDIE:

The guys on Triple M's Hot Breakfast were about to be joined by Chris Judd when they played a clip of him being unsure about which way to pronounce Harry McKay's surname.

"Just call him Macca!" Juddy laughed.

Darce pointed out there were a few different pronunciations of the same name - Harry McKay versus David Mackay and Darcy Fogarty versus Lachie Fogarty - and Eddie pointed out a theme.

"You know what the problem is! South Australians!" he said.

"It's called a banana, they call it a checkside...they used to name their team from the forward line, not the back line!

"There's too many of them calling the bloody football! We need some Victorians back calling football!"
