A learner driver on NSW's mid-north coast has been clocked going more than 110km/h over the speed limit.

The 18-year-old, has allegedly been caught by police going a whopping 220km/h in a 110 zone on the Pacific Highway at Raleigh near Coffs Harbour.

A learner driver is restricted to only 90km/h on the road.

Travelling on his motorbike, the offender overtook three cars before being pulled over by police.

"I don't know. It was stupid," the 18-year-old said when asked by policed why he was travelling so fast.

His licence is suspended and is expected to face Coffs Harbour Local Court early next year.
