Legendary Sports Announcer Darrell Eastlake Has Passed Away Aged 75

Darrell Eastlake, a legend of sports broadcasting, has died at the age of 75.

Eastlake, a former Wide World of Sports star, had worked in TV and radio for more than four decades and was as known for his booming voice as he was for his big personality.

Channel 9 confirmed that Eastlake passed away this morning at a nursing home after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

 Former rugby league player and Triple M announcer Mark Geyer spoke fondly of Eastlake this morning; listen below.
