An inmate has been airlifted to Sydney, with reports he was assaulted by another inmate at the Junee Correctional Centre.
The 32 year old man suffered severe head injuries and is in intensive care.
Police are investigating the incident, which happened on Wednesday evening.
It's believed a 20 year old man sustained minor injuries, and has been placed into segregation.
