Essendon coach John Worsfold says forward Josh Green’s injury looks “serious”, and that there is a possibility he has a fracture in his left foot.

Green limped off against Gold Coast on Saturday night with a foot problem, after pulling up sore in the last term.

He was spotted after the match on crutches and in a moon boot.

Worsfold said on the Sunday Rub the news wasn't looking too good.

“That looks like it’s serious,” he told Triple M on Sunday.

“He’s off to get scans tomorrow morning on that, but he fractured abone in his foot a few years ago, and had that pinned, and there’s a possibility this is the same thing in the other foot.

“We’ll get that confirmed tomorrow, but it’s not looking that great at this stage for him."
