Jamie Whincup has extended his lead at the top of the Supercars Drivers’ Championship after taking out the Auckland SuperSprint today.
Whincup went out from pole position after finishing fastest in qualifying, and won easily to take home the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy.
Whincup finished ahead of Scott McLaughlin and Cameron Waters.
Whincup leads the drivers championship, while McLaughlin’s DJR Team Penske leads the teams’ championship.
The last race of the season is in Newcastle on the weekend of the 24th-26th of November.
